As with all Night Owl optical equipment, the NexGen monocular includes a Russian-designed light-amplification module inside the two-piece body. The module's Generation 1 technology amplifies the ambient light by 500x and hurls it against a phosphorescent screen, yielding green but crystal-clear images in near darkness. The monocular also includes a powerful infrared illuminator for use on moonless nights. The illuminator captures the thermal radiation that's invisible to human and animal eyesight, so you can see others without being seen yourself.
